Miami, FL – October 13, 2004 - Community Partnership
for Homeless has chosen local businessman and philanthropist, Ronald
L. Book to receive The Alvah H. Chapman Jr. Humanitarian Award for
his contributions and dedication to the homeless communities in Miami-Dade
and Broward Counties. The award will be presented at Community Partnership
for Homeless’ Third Annual Benefit on Friday, October 22, 2004
at the JW Marriott Hotel in Miami.
“Ron Book has been a pillar in our community for many years,” said
Ray Goode, chairman of Community Partnership for Homeless. “Our
organization is only one of many that have benefited from his leadership
and dedication. We feel that Ron represents everything that a true humanitarian
should be.”
Book, a long-time benefactor of the homeless community, is a member
of the Dade County Homeless Trust, an outside advisor to the Broward
Community Partnership on the Homeless, and was the recipient of this
year’s James J. Blossner Community Trusteeship Award from the Broward
Partnership for the Homeless.
The Alvah H. Chapman Jr. Humanitarian Award is given each year to an
individual in Miami-Dade who has been instrumental in leading the challenge
of helping homeless men, women and children in the community.
