Welcome to Community Partnership for Homeless…

About Community Partnership for Homeless:
Since 1995, Community Partnership for Homeless has been assisting homeless men, women and children in transitioning off the streets of Miami-Dade County and on their way to attaining greater stability and self-sufficiency in their lives. As the private sector partner of the Miami Dade County Homeless Trust, we have continually been recognized as a national model for our comprehensive approach to helping the homeless.  Our program’s main catalyst for success…the Homeless Assistance Centers…operate as one-stop temporary care entry points that provide not just food and shelter, but comprehensive case management, healthcare, daycare, job training and other assistance from a variety of social service agencies all under one roof.

Above all, however, is our deeply held conviction that those temporarily homeless persons in our care shall always be treated with the greatest compassion, dignity and respect.

Turning the Page – In Honor of Creed Black’s Birthday

Elsa and Michelle Black have established this fund in honor of Creed Black.  The purpose is to make sure that there will always be sufficient books and educational items (including, but not limited to, instructional games and videos, computers, school uniforms and backpacks, outdoor learning equipment, online subscriptions and contest scholarships) at both homeless assistance centers.  Ideally this fund will keep the reading shelves well-stocked and allow adults and children to take books with them as they begin the new chapters in their lives.

Elsa and Michelle have been collecting new and gently-used books for the homeless since Michelle was in elementary school, and she made it her bat mitzvah charity project three years ago as well. To date, they have been able to donate over 2,300 books to Community Partnership for Homeless and currently have nearly 400 books (and counting) to be picked up by summer's end.

This fund was kept a secret from Creed until the day of his birthday. Should anyone care to make a donation to mark his big day, click here for online donations.  Checks should be made out to:  Community Partnership for Homeless with memo stating “Turning the Page” and mailed to:
